Which systems and devices are compatible with the Magnetic PSSD?
A1: Systems: iOS 17, macOS, Android 9, Windows 7 and above, HarmonyOS, Linux, and other systems.
A2: Devices: The Magnetic PSSD can be used with iPhone 15 series phones, smartphones, tablets, PCs, gaming consoles, drones, TVs, and any product that supports Type-C or USB interfaces.
What is the default file system format for the Magnetic PSSD when it leaves the factory?
A1: The default file system format is exFAT, which can be used directly on devices running Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and other systems.
A2: Users can reformat the PSSD to other file system formats like FAT32, NTFS, or exFAT according to their device’s requirements. This format conversion must be done on a computer.
Can files or videos stored on the Magnetic PSSD be edited directly on the PSSD?
A: Yes, as long as the Magnetic PSSD is connected to a main device that supports editing, you can directly edit or trim files or videos without needing to transfer them to a computer first.
Which main device interfaces are compatible with the Magnetic PSSD?
A1: The Magnetic PSSD supports USB 3.2 Gen2x2 protocol with a Type-C 20Gbps interface. It can be used with main devices that have Type-C, USB 3.2, USB 3.1, USB 3.0, and below interfaces.
A2: The Magnetic PSSD offers ultra-fast transfer speeds up to 2000MB/s. However, when used with USB 3.1, USB 3.0, or lower interfaces, the speed will be limited by the transfer speed of the main device.
On which products can the Magnetic PSSD support direct recording and storage?
A1: With the wide variety of terminal products (not limited to smartphones) on the market and their rapid updates, whether direct recording and storage is supported depends on the terminal product itself. The Magnetic PSSD can support this function, but users should check if their specific terminal product is compatible.
A2: For example, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support direct recording and storage, including 4K 60fps video. To enable this on an iPhone 15 Pro: Go to [Settings] -> [Camera] -> [Formats] -> [Apple ProRes] -> [Enable]. Then, open [Camera] -> [Video] and click the [ProRes HDR] icon in the upper left. If you see "USB-C" at the bottom of the screen, the high-definition video will be recorded directly to the Magnetic PSSD.
How can the Magnetic PSSD be fixed in place on a device that doesn’t have magnetic functionality?
A: The Magnetic PSSD package includes a magnetic patch. You can attach this patch to your device to allow the PSSD to magnetically adhere. For detailed instructions, please refer to the user manual or contact customer service.
Why isn’t the file transfer speed reaching 20Gbps when the Magnetic PSSD is connected to a computer?
A: The main device's interface must support USB 3.2 Gen2x2 protocol to achieve 20Gbps transfer speed. If the interface does not support USB 3.2 Gen2x2, the transfer speed will be lower. The actual transfer speed will be limited by the slowest speed among the main device, the data cable, and the PSSD.
How can the Magnetic PSSD be used with a computer that doesn’t have a Type-C port?
A: You can connect the Magnetic PSSD to your computer using a Type-A or Type-C data cable. You can purchase a compatible adapter or data cable that supports data transfer. To achieve the highest speeds, ensure that the main device, data cable, and adapter all support speeds of 20Gbps or above.
Does the warranty cover data recovery?
A: No, data recovery is not covered under warranty. Users should back up important data in advance. If data recovery is needed, please contact a third-party data recovery service.
How do you transfer files between the Magnetic PSSD and a mobile device (e.g., smartphone)?
A: Connect the data cable to both devices. (For example, with an iPhone 15) Go to the [Files] app -> [Locations], where you’ll see "DIGIERA PSSD." You can then select files to copy or move between the Magnetic PSSD and the smartphone. The directory location may vary depending on the phone model, so check with your phone manufacturer if unsure.
How long can the 1TB/2TB Magnetic PSSD continuously record on an iPhone 15 Pro series?
A: It depends on the ProRes video mode's resolution. After setting the video resolution, plug in the PSSD, and the camera app will display the available recording time. For example, a brand-new 1TB PSSD can record 73 minutes in 4K 60FPS or 147 minutes in 4K 30FPS.
Does the Magnetic PSSD have an indicator light?
A: Yes, the "Digiera" logo serves as the indicator light. When plugged into a main device, the logo will emit a white light. It will stay lit when connected but idle, and it will blink during data transfer. If the logo does not light up, check the compatibility of the main device, the interface, the data cable, and the PSSD.
